Tripunithura is a municipality and residential suburb of Kochi in Kanayannur taluk, about 7 km southeast of the city centre, and was the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Cochin. Its landmarks include the Hill Palace, the former royal residence now run by the state archaeology department as a museum, the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple, and the RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, established in 1956.
